Dr Barnardo opened his first home for boys only a few streets away from the present site of Bishop Challoner school. Students in this group created a model of a typical Victorian Barnardo orphanage, based on the nearby Ragged School Museum in Mile End. They also created a newspaper to tell the story of one former Barnardo orphan “Carrots” and they used various printmaking techniques
to create images and portraits.
